ANTHROPOLOGIE MIRROR DUPE DIY

An Anthropologie mirror has been on my wishlist for YEARS and if you’re in the same boat the biggest set back is that there price tag!

When we walked through our house for the first time with the realtor I saw this big mirror on the wall and fell in L O V E!

Fast forward when we found out we got the house and had to start making negotiations the mirror was on my list but our realtor didn’t want to risk it.

On moving day I walked in and saw it on the wall and almost cried! It was so beyond nice of the previous owners to leave it for us and knew I’d be doing this tutorial at some point so here we go!

Here’s my Instagram reel that goes through the whole process:

Here’s what the mirror looks like!

Here’s what you’ll need:

This is probably the easiest DIY project I’ve done so far! It’s easy peasy and the steps can be applied for any mirror!

STEP ONE:

I got the top large applique at Home Depot for $13 and the two corner appliques on amazon for $12.

Start by painting your appliques with rub n buff.

If you haven’t used rub n buff before your life is about to change!

A little goes a long way and you can use it on metal, wood, plastic to make it a gorgeous shade of gold and there are lots of options!

STEP TWO:

Glue appliques to mirror! I used a hot glue gun at first and the top applique kept popping off so I ended up using super glue.

STEP THREE:

Line the mirror with pearl strips!

These are sticky on the back so I didn’t end up needing to glue them or anything they’ve stayed on perfectly!

There are different sizes of pearl dots and it was hard to tell how big they when actually be, but I would probably have gotten bigger ones for this specific mirror. If I ever decide to change it switching it out will be easy!

STEP FOUR:

Paint over the pearls with rub n buff!

Even though my mirror was already gold it was more of a bright gold and putting the antique gold on top made it softer.

And here’s the final result!

p.s. I ran out of pearls at the top so just don’t look at that and know I’ll get more haha

Good luck and let me know if you decide to try!

xoxo
